At SONALLA, we believe every child should have the opportunity to experience the joy of playing an instrument.
We are a team of educators and musicians who create inclusive, high-quality music programmes that bring children together through shared musical experiences. For us, learning an instrument is about much more than developing musical skills. It builds confidence, encourages creativity, strengthens relationships and helps children discover what they can achieve together.
Everything we do is guided by three simple goals: making instrumental learning accessible to every child, supporting teachers with practical training, and creating projects that have a lasting impact on schools and their communities.
The CORDES Project
CORDES gives every Year 4 pupil in the public primary schools of Sant Pere de Ribes the opportunity to learn the violin, viola or cello during school hours. Using the internationally recognised Groove'n'Play approach, children learn by playing together from the very beginning. They develop instrumental skills while learning to listen, collaborate, solve problems and enjoy making music as a group.
SONALLA coordinates the project, trains and clasrrom teachers, develops inclusive learning materials and supports the growth of school orchestras and other activities that extend learning beyond the classroom.

We continue to grow the project by expanding opportunities for instrumental learning, introducing new instrumental programmes, strengthening school orchestras and sharing our approach with other communities.
At its heart, CORDES is about helping children realise their potential. When a child discovers they can learn an instrument, perform with others and overcome challenges together, they gain skills and confidence that extend well beyond the music classroom.

The CORDES Project

- 7 public primary schools
- 12 Year group classes
- More than 300 children taking part each year
- Over 1,200 children since the project began
- 3 active school orchestras
